We, at Al Shams Centre, recognize that each student is an individual with specific needs and should be provided with the opportunity for learning and development to reach their potential in their cognitive, physical, emotional, personal and social development. Each student’s educational programme and learning expectations, including the supporting services, will be developed and described in his or her Individual Educational Plan (IEP). The IEP also helps teachers monitor the student’s progress and provides a framework for communicating information about the student’s progress to parents and to the student. The IEP is updated periodically to record any changes in the student’s special education programme and services that are found to be necessary as a result of continuous assessment and evaluation of the student’s achievement of annual goals and learning expectations.
